Wham!: The Final Concert is an unofficial Wham! live album featuring Simon Le Bon, recorded at Wembley Stadium in London, UK on 28 June 1986.
About the album[]
The album is a recording of Wham!'s performance at Wembley Stadium, a venue located in north-west London that hosted Live Aid in 1985.
This was the final concert by Wham!, a British duo formed in 1981 consisting of singer George Michael and guitarist Andrew Ridgeley. The duo were briefly known in the USA as Wham! UK because of a naming conflict with another band. Wham! sold 25 million certified albums from 1982 to 1986, then George Michael went onto become a successful solo artist.
Watched by 72,000 people, the show represented the end of four years. Wham! launched the show with "Everything She Wants", a double A-side single released with "Last Christmas" in 1984.
The concert included guest appearances by Simon Le Bon and Sir Elton John, who both performed on the final song "I'm Your Man" with Wham!. Sir Elton also contributed to "Candle In The Wind". After the show, an extravagant party was held at the Hippodrome in London.
Tickets for the event cost around £13.50.
