About the album[]
Issued in a custom yellow cellophane lined paper sleeve with cue sheets for radio presenters, the album had a 12 month broadcasting contract which permitted continued use until 12 February 1988.
Top of the Pops was a weekly BBC radio show distributed on LP, highlighting chart songs and new releases presented by BBC disc jockeys. The shows were an hour long and included about a dozen songs - both live BBC session recordings and album tracks, with the occasional interview segment.
Presented by Brian Matthew, the album was first aired on 11 February 1987. "Skin Trade" is included, the second single from Duran Duran's Notorious album, and the band's 15th single in total. It was released in January 1987 and reached no.22 on the UK Singles Chart.
