Background information[]
A few people still recognize Ton Lebbink as the drummer of the notorious Mecano, once a Dutch band and art collective which emerged at the end of the 1970s under the influence of British post punk.
After he left Mecano, Lebbink became known as the only true punk poet of the Netherlands and released two LPs of poetry reading, in Dutch. The albums include music. He doesn't play drums, but uses the Linn drumcomputer and some guitars.
He was also a bouncer of Paradiso in Amsterdam, where he was a support act for Duran Duran on 12 September 1981.
