Tokyo - Japan: 17-06-01 is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Pop Trash Tour at the Tokyo International Forum in Tokyo, Japan on 17 June 2001.
About the album[]
The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Tokyo International Forum, a 5,000 capacity venue designed by architect Rafael Viñoly.
More than two and half months after the end of the US Up Close and Personnel Tour, Duran Duran flew to Japan to play three shows. This was the first of these Japanese dates.
In May 2001 on duranduran.com, Simon Le Bon and Nick Rhodes announced the next phase of 'Duran Duran: the Reunion', that featured all the original five band members. Therefore these three Japanese dates were the last performances by guitarist Warren Cuccurullo, drummer Joe Travers and bass player Wes Wehmiller with Duran Duran.
The concert setlist included "Union of the Snake", a song which wasn't played during any other show on The Pop Trash Tour.
Tickets for the event cost around 7,500 Japanese Yen.
