Jan 12? Simon in Italy sings a cover of the Python Lee Jackson/Rod Stewart song In A Broken Dream on the Music program on channel 5, presented by Paolo Bonolis. Jan 20 The Civil Wars singer Joy Williams releases a beautiful cover of Duran Duran’s “Ordinary World,” which first debuted in 2013 on "Grey's Anatomy."
Feb 9 The Savoy’s Beaufort Bar in London unveiled a tunnel cocktail menu that guides guests through some of the hotel’s most memorable events, inspired by the band filming the music video for “Girl Panic” at the venue in 2011.

Mar 26 Duran Duran: Autodromo de Interlagos, São Paulo, Brazil. Apr 10 The Huffington Post runs an article, “Why a Phenomenon Like Duran Duran May Never Happen Again,” wherein writer Kristi York Wooten says about Duran Duran “an artist will only succeed decades into the future if the music is built to do the same.”
Apr 15 Record Store Day is held, an event when all independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music.
Apr 26 Roger Taylor is 57 years old today.
Apr 27 “Dare to Be Different,” a film about the radio station WLIR and featuring interviews with many artists including Nick, premieres at the TriBeCa Film Festival. It is also revealed during Nick’s interview that the band won 13 Screamer of the Weeks.

May 10 Duran Duran celebrate the 35th anniversary of the release of their album Rio with an oral history posted on duranduran.com. Sirius XM Radio also celebrates #rio35, with station 1st Wave playing a track (with band commentary) from RIO every hour of the day, as well as live interviews with Nick and John on other channels.
May 18 Duran Duran are a special guest performer at the SALT (The SkyBridge Alternatives) Conference in Las Vegas.
May 22 Devastated by the events that occurred at Manchester Arena on May 22; where an Islamist suicide bomber killed 23 people leaving the Manchester Arena following a concert by US singer Ariana Grande. The band release this statement: “Deeply sad to hear about what happened in Manchester, and to all the innocent fans who were involved in this heinous and mindless action. Our thoughts are with all the people who were there and especially those who have been injured.”
May 23 Actor Roger Moore passes away. John posted, “One of my favorite actors, first as Simon Templar then as Lord Brett Sinclair. We got to work with him when he was Bond in “A View to a Kill” and he was the nicest fella. After meeting him, my mum was never the same again.”
May 29 Simon and Nick Wood get together in London to work on a new song Closer To Your Bed, written for the upcoming Cannes event in June. Simon describes the song as "shagging without shagging". One of the pugs goes to sleep. (YouTube).
May 31 Yorkshire dark rock band, Hellbound Hearts release a cover of A View to a Kill, in respect for the passing of Roger Moore. The version is widely praised, with some saying it is the best cover of the song on the internet. (YouTube).
June 5 Simon participates in the Modena Cento Ore classic car Grand Prix race the week of June 5. His vehicle is sponsored by Maison Corthay and Cifonelli, but unfortunately he has to leave the race mid-way through. (YouTube).

Jun 21 Simon Le Bon's Mum passes away. Simon posted the following: “Ann Marie Le Bon died willingly & peacefully in night of June the 19th. She’s the person I’ve known for the longest in my life. We are all very sad. But she has left us with her overwhelming love, which she planted as seed in all of our hearts.”

Aug 9 Anna Ross interviewed about her album First Day. She says demos for the album were written in 2014, and recorded in-between the Paper Gods tour of 2015; at home studios of producers including Dom Brown, but mainly Matt Catlow - with whom she wrote several songs. At some point (presumably 2014?), she got stuck with the lyrics and asked Simon for help, especially on the lead single First Day. (Article DD.com).

Aug 16 Producer Jason Corsaro passed away on at the age of 58.
Aug 20 John posted this tribute to Jason Corsaro online: “One of the most important sonic architects of what might be called ‘The Eighties Sound’ and a personal friend, we mourn the passing of Jason Corsaro. Jason mixed the Arena live album then moved to London to work with Nile on Wild Boys, then working with Bernard on A View to a Kill. His massive contribution to the Power Station got his face on the album cover. His sound will live forever”

Nov 17 Nick is introduced to Graham Coxon at the David Bowie event. Nick suggests they should work together 'some time'. Six months later (according to John), Erol Alkan suggested Graham Coxon might be the ideal working partner for the next album, Future Past.
