May 20 Andy Taylor: The Forum in Inglewood, CA, USA (supporting The Psychedelic Furs)
Andy was originally scheduled to support for the tour, but walked out after a disagreement over the duration of his set. Andy claimed he wasn't allowed a sound check, but Bernard Butler is quoted as stating that his crew turned up the lights because, despite warnings, Taylor had extended his set well beyond its allotted time. In union halls, such as the Forum, Butler said, shows that go into overtime incur stiff financial penalties. "Our set lasts a specific amount of time," says Butler. "It's all organized. But what happened was he had gone on stage 10 minutes late for no apparent reason. He'd just been sitting in his dressing room drinking. Then he went over by somewhere between 15 and 20 minutes. He was doing an extended version of "Bang-a-Gong" when they turned the houselights up. We didn't want to pay the (penalties). I'd hate for this to reflect on the band. Maybe a couple of us were watching, but certainly none of the Psychedelic Furs had their fingers on any light switches."

Andy was supposed to be supporting Heart on unknown dates on the 1st leg N American leg of the Bad Animals Tour...
...however a press report from the 27th states - "When ex-Duran Duran guitarist Andy Taylor named his first solo album Thunder, it turned out to be a forecast of his stormy behavior. Last January, Taylor canceled his opening act for the David Lee Roth tour, saying he needed to finish his own recording. Then, after artistic and technical differences with the Psychedelic Furs, he signed off that tour as an opening act. Most recently he was expected among the opening acts on the first leg of Heart’s tour. Wishful thinking. “In Atlanta, Taylor’s band and crew showed, but not Taylor,” says an insider. For an opener, his case is closed." (source).
