Spring | Power Station Studios is created from a Consolidated Edison power plant, at 441 West 53rd Street between Ninth and Tenth avenues in the Hell's Kitchen neighbourhood in Manhattan, New York City. Power Station Studios was founded and designed by Tony Bongiovi, who designed its wooden rooms specifically for multitrack recording to achieve a live sound. Disgruntled, Nile and Bernard go back to their Hell's Kitchen residence and angrily jam furiously all night in response to the snubbing. The chorus for their new song is ""A-a-a-a-a-a-ah, F*CK OFF!", but the line is later changed to "Freak Out". Le Freak is born.
