The Krush Brothers was an alias used by Duran Duran in 1988 and 1989 during the promotion of Big Thing.
According to Ask Katy:
"Hi Katy,
Someone posted a question on one of the DD lists about the Krush Brothers…I remember the LSD edit that they did under this name but can you tell me more about it? IE, why they chose the name Krush Brothers, did they actually do some concerts under this name as well? It’s always puzzled me."
- THE NAME WAS COINED BY THEIR MANAGER AT THE TIME, PETER RUDGE. THEY USED THE PSEUDONYM TO PLAY SEVERAL SECRET LIVE GIGS IN SMALL VENUES. THEN IT WAS USED FOR ONE SINGLE RECORD RELEASE TO RADIO SO THAT DJS WOULD NOT KNOW THAT THE PIECE WAS BY DURAN DURAN!
The promo record was "Official Bootleg: The LSD Edit"; it was also included on Album Network Tuneup 27 under the name The Krush Brothers.
The band is known to have played under this name:
- 19 November, 1988 at La Locomotive, Paris, France (bootlegged on La Locomotive: Paris 1988)
- 22 December, 1988 at Town and Country Club, London, England (bootlegged on Krush Brothers: Town & Country)
