John Taylor (also known as The Japan Album) is the self-titled album by John Taylor, released by Cutting Edge Records / Avex Trax on 23 November 1999.
About the album[]
In 1999 Taylor signed a recording contract with the Japanese record label Avex Trax and released this album, with only the words John Taylor on the front cover. The Japanese connection lead to the CD to be known as The Japan Album.
Taylor dedicated the album to his late mother, who passed away in October 1998. The CD includes the song "Spirit of the Times", featuring lyrics that refer to Taylor's home city of Birmingham.
