The Engagement Party is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded at the KROQ Acoustic Christmas Show, Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles, CA, USA on 12 December 1992.

About the album[]

The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Universal Amphitheater, a 6,189 capacity indoor venue located in Los Angeles within Universal City.

The show was part of an annual event, run and broadcast since 1990 by the Los Angeles based KROQ Radio. Staged over a weekend in mid-December with two shows, the line-up also featured Adam Ant, David Byrne, Cause and Effect, The Cult, Dada, EMF, The Farm, Michael Penn, The Rembrandts, Seal, Soul Asylum, The Soup Dragons, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Suzanne Vega, and The Violent Femmes.

Duran Duran performed at both KROQ Acoustic Christmas Shows in 1992, which were the only two dates performed by the band during that year.

The Engagement Party features "Come Undone", "Too Much Information" and "Ordinary World", three songs that were unreleased at the time. The songs were later released on The Wedding Album in February 1993.

Tickets for the show cost around $14.00.
