About the album[]
The album is a collection of songs by various artists, which is one of the earliest to feature Duran Duran. "Girls on Film" is included, the band's third single originally released in July 1981.
The Beat also includes "We Got the Beat" by the Go-Go's, a song covered by Duran Duran during band introductions on various shows of The Red Carpet Massacre Tour in 2008.
