The book was edited by Ariane Sherine, a comedy writer and journalist who writes for The Guardian newspaper in the UK. This is Britain’s first atheist charity book initiative, with all royalties benefiting the UK HIV charity Terrence Higgins Trust.
The Atheist’s Guide To Christmas is divided into six sections, with contributions from 42 of the UK’s most entertaining atheist scientists, comedians, philosophers, journalists and writers. Among the contributors are Simon Le Bon, who writes about his love of church music.
Catie Wilkins speaks about sending Christmas cards to biblical characters, and Richard Herring on his Christmas with a cat.
