Talking to Girls about Duran Duran: One Young Man's Quest for True Love and a Cooler Haircut is a 288-page book written by Rob Sheffield and published by the Penguin Group on 15 July 2010.

About the book[]

The book is a series of essays nominally on twenty-five songs from the 1980s. Each chapter is titled with a song, and the song-chapters are in chronological order from The Go Go's "Our Lips Are Sealed" (1980) to Duran Duran's "All She Wants Is" (1989).

This is the second book by American music journalist and author Rob Sheffield, who is currently a contributing editor at Rolling Stone. The chapters covers his life from the junior high age of 13, all the way through to his completion of college in 1990. He traces the history of 80's music through the lens of his own life. The memories triggered by music are the driving force behind this book.

Talking to Girls about Duran Duran is also available as an audiobook version, narrated by Scott Shepherd with a running time of 6 hours and 51 minutes.
