TV Mania - at the Movies is an unofficial TV Mania and Blondie compilation album, released in Luxembourg by E/Vision Records during 2000.
About the album[]
The album begins with a medley from TV Mania's Bored with Prozac and The Internet?. This was an unreleased album at the time, constructed by blending television samples and looping rhythm tracks.
Blondie performs "Studio 54" and "Pop Trash Movie". In 1997, Blondie began working together again for the first time in 15 years. Two tracks were recorded with TV Mania, the production trio of two Duran Duran members, Nick Rhodes and Warren Cuccurullo, plus producer Anthony J. Resta.
These two tracks "Studio 54" and "Pop Trash Movie" were scheduled to be released on a Blondie compilation, entitled This Is Blondie. However, the project and the tracks were shelved as the four original members (Harry, Stein, Clem Burke and Jimmy Destri) embarked on sessions for what would become Blondie's seventh studio album.
Several Internet sites also state that "Studio 54" and "Pop Trash Movie" were released in Japan on a Blondie album called Deborah Is Rival in 1997. (TOCP-50271 / 408142). This album was to coincide with the soundtrack for a new Japanese movie featuring many early Blondie tracks. There is no artwork to confirm this.
