Sunrise In Dallas is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Astronaut Tour at the Nokia Theatre in Grand Prairie, Dallas, TX, USA on 19 February 2005.

About the album[]

The album is an incomplete recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Nokia Theatre, a 6,350 capacity venue located in a suburb between Dallas and Fort Worth. This was the third of four shows performed in the state of Texas on the tour.

The audience rawed when the lights of the arena went out at around 9:00pm and a synthesizer intro kicked in. After several minutes the five original members of Duran Duran appeared and stood in front of the stage, as lights randomly flashed.

The band then launched into an energetic performance of "(Reach Up for The) Sunrise". From then on it was a mix of new and old songs.

"Planet Earth" rocked the house, driven by Roger Taylor's pounding beats and "Careless Memories" was accompanied by an anime created by Japanese illustrator Fumio Obata.

Preceding the encore break was "The Wild Boys", a song which reached no.2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart in 1984. After several minutes, the band returned and played a cover version of Melle Mel's "White Lines". Concluding the night was "Rio", featuring Andy Hamilton performing saxophone.

Tickets for the event cost around $65.00 and the 3D pop-up programme cost $45.00.

The bootleg is incomplete, missing "Hungry Like the Wolf", "Hold Back the Rain", "Astronaut" and "Tiger Tiger" from the setlist.

Duran Duran continued the tour the following evening, playing the Houston show on 20 February.
