Speed Grapher is a 2005 anime series about a photographer who encounters a strange criminal underworld in his quest to save a young girl who saved his life. It was created by Gonzo and was directed by Kunihisa Sugishima.

The original Japanese-language series used "Girls on Film" by Duran Duran as a theme song. The song was not licensed for use in other markets, so when distributed outside Japan it was replaced by "Hill of Poppies" by Shione Yukawa or "Shutter Speed" by Shinkichi Mitsumune.

About the series[]

The series ran for 24 episodes from April to October 2005 on TV Asahi and later released in North America by Funimation Entertainment. The series tells the story of former war photographer, Tatsumi Saiga and his quest to save the teenage girl Kagura Tennozou (who can give supernatural powers to those she kisses) from her cruel mother Kagura Tennozou, her evil right-hand evil Chouji Suitengu and other members of the fetish club, the Roppongi Club, who use the girl for their nefarious purposes.
