Sing Blue Wembley is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Sing Blue Silver Tour at Wembley Arena in London, UK on 20 December 1983.
About the album[]
The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at Wembley Arena, a 12,000 capacity indoor venue built for the 1934 Empire Games by Sir Arthur Elvin. This was the third of five shows performed in London on the tour.
This Tuesday evening show began when the arena lights dimmed and a recording of "Tiger Tiger" was played. Then giant black stage curtains opened and Duran Duran launched the show with their first UK no.1 single "Is There Something I Should Know?".
Performing with a backdrop featuring Roman style columns, the band followed with the Colin Thurston produced "Hungry Like the Wolf".
The setlist was the same as most of the previous UK Sing Blue Silver Tour shows, which included Duran Duran's current single "Union of the Snake".
The show finished with "Girls on Film", featuring band introductions.
Tickets for the event cost from around £6.50.
The sound quality of this album is excellent and probably originated from the soundboard as the show was never broadcast.
