Simon Colley is a British bass player and clarinet player, who performed with bands including Subterranean Hawks and Duran Duran.
Biography[]
In the late 1970s Simon was a student in Birmingham. He joined Duran Duran in 1978 and became a member of the band's first official line-up, which comprised of Colley, Stephen Duffy, John Taylor and Nick Rhodes. He performed with the band during 1978 and 1979. This included Duran Duran's first show, held at the Lecture Theatre in Birmingham Polytechnic University.
In April 1979 Colley and Duran's singer Steven Duffy left the band to form Subterranean Hawks, with TV Eye guitarist Dave Kusworth and drummer David Twist (former singer with John Taylor's band Shock Treatment).
Subterranean Hawks were a short lived band, which also included musician Dave Kusworth.
