Samantha Nicole Nelson is an American pop singer and songwriter, who performed backing vocals with Duran Duran during the Mazda unveiling show in 2014.

Originally from the Bronx, NY, USA, Nelson currently resides in Los Angeles, California. She is a graduate of Berklee College of Music with a degree in Music Business and is a former employee of Universal Music Group Distribution with 2 1/2 years experience in marketing.
In June 2011, Nelson signed her first major publishing deal with Rondor Music International/Universal Music Publishing Group, publisher for some of the music industries top songwriters including Rod Temperton (Michael Jackson "Thriller"), George Merrill and Sharon Rubicam (Whitney Houston "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" and "How Will I Know"), James Fauntleroy (Jordin Sparks "No Air", Rihanna "Wait Your Turn", Justin Timberlake "Suit & Tie") and many more.
Since signing with the Beluga Heights team, Nelson has been instrumental in writing for some of the label's priority artists including Livvi Franc, Auburn, Jason Derulo and Sean Kingston. Samantha wrote the hit "Born 2 Be Wild", recorded recorded by Sean Kingston feat. Nicki Minaj.
Nelson recently placed her first single with DBanj called "Top of the World". This track is also the official SuperSport Anthem for AFCON 2013 (Africa Cup of Nations).
