Süddeutsche Zeitung Diskothek 1981 is a book issued with a CD compilation album featuring Duran Duran, released in Germany by Süddeutsche Zeitung during 2006.

About the album[]

The album was released by the German national newpaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, which is part of a series of fifty called 1000 Songs Fünfzig Jähre Popmusik (1000 Songs Fifty Years Pop Music).

The compilation includes Duran Duran's third single "Girls on Film". Grace Jones is also featured, an artist who later performed on Arcadia's So Red the Rose album.

The compilation is also the second in the series to feature Bob Dylan, with the song "Every Grain of Sand" originally from his Shot of Love album.
