Riptide is an album by the British singer Robert Palmer, released by Island Records in November 1985 and features Andy Taylor.

About the album[]

Produced by Bernard Edwards, the album includes Robert Palmer's hit single "Addicted To Love" featuring guitarist Andy Taylor. The song reached no.1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1986, helped by a memorable music video. Palmer won a Grammy Award for the song in 1987.

As well as Andy Taylor, the album also features Palmer's other Power Station bandmate Tony Thompson providing the drum services, with the Power Station producer Bernard Edwards (from Chic) playing bass. The song "I Didn't Mean to Turn You On", originally performed by R&B singer Cherrelle, was again covered in 2001 by Mariah Carey for her movie Glitter.
