Rick Dees' Weekly Top 40: July 12, 1985 is a radio show album featuring Duran Duran, released in the USA by United Stations during 1985.
About the album[]
The album was used for licence broadcast on July 12, 1985, by an internationally-syndicated radio program created and hosted by American radio personality Rick Dees.
Issued with cue sheets for radio presenters, the show counts down the American Top 40 selling singles. It also features commercials for Union Bay, Chewells, Dr. Pepper, Ivory, U.S. Army, Hawaiian Punch, Stridex, Blue Nun, Tropical Blend, Clearasil, Dura Soft, Baby Ruth/Butterfinger, Suzuki, Jean Nate, Armour Dial, Orion Pictures - Heavenly Kid, and 20th Century Fox - Man With One Red Shoe
The compilation includes Duran Duran's "A View to a Kill" at no.1, the last single by the original five band members until "Sunrise" in 2004.
Also included is The Power Station's second single "Get It On (Bang a Gong)" at no.25, a song performed by the band at Live Aid on the day after this album was aired.
Paul Young is featured, an artist Andy Taylor suggested as Robert Palmer's replacement for The Power Station's Summer Tour in 1985.
