Pala de André, Ravenna: July 18, 2008 is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Red Carpet Massacre Tour at the Pala de André in Ravenna, Italy on 18 July 2008.

About the album[]

The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Pala de André, a 3,320 capacity venue which features a vast translucent dome approximately 33m high that's illuminated at night. This was the third of six shows performed by the band in Italy on the tour.

The concert began with dramatic claps of thunder and searchlights sweeping over the crowd. Duran Duran then appeared on a short stretch of red carpet to open their set with three songs from the Red Carpet Massacre album.

During the concert the band played "Save A Prayer", featuring an introduction by John Taylor speaking words in Italian. He spoke about his respect for Federico Fellini, an Italian film director. The introduction also included the band speaking of the 'special relationship between Duran Duran and Italy'. The band then asked the audience to sing "Save A Prayer", as they played the music only.

The encore consisted of "Girls on Film", finishing with a song medley of "Seven Nation Army" and "Rio".

Tickets for the event cost around 39.90 Euros.

The tour poster features band photography by Stephanie Pistel.
