New World Music Theatre: August 18, 2000 is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Pop Trash Tour at the New World Music Theatre, Tinley Park in Chicago, IL, USA on 18 August 2000.

About the album[]

The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the New World Music Theatre, a 28,000 capacity outdoor venue located in the Chicago metro area. This was the only show performed in the state of Illinois on the tour.

After Los Angeles band Tsar warmed up the crowd with their style of rock, Duran Duran took to the stage and opened with Pop Trash's "Last Day on Earth".

The show featured a slightly different setlist compared with other Pop Trash Tour dates. "A View to a Kill" was included, a single which reached no.1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1985.

During the evening, "New Moon on Monday" featured Simon Le Bon singing a new intro. There was a moving rendition of "Ordinary World"; the catchy "Notorious" and a powerful version of "Girls on Film".

Duran Duran ended the show appropriately with one of their biggest hits "The Reflex", which had audience members yelling for more.

Tickets for the event cost around $36.50.
