National Auditorium, Mexico City is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The All You Need Is Now Tour at the National Auditorium in Mexico City, Mexico on 11 April 2011
About the album[]
The album is an incomplete recording of Duran Duran's performance at the National Auditorium, a 10,000 capacity venue located at Paseo de la Reforma #50, Chapultepec in Mexico City. This was the last of three shows performed by the band in Mexico on the tour.
More than three decades of artistic career came to light when Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Roger Taylor took to the stage at approx 8:30pm. The band opened the show with "Planet Earth", played with high energy and enthusiasm.
"All You Need Is Now" soon followed and lead singer Le Bon spoke to the audience. He said "Thank you very much Mexico City, tonight is our third concert here and we have had some very funny moments in this country, you are wonderful".
During "The Chauffeur", Le Bon played a flute and performed the song mostly with Nick Rhodes on a darkened stage, which was very simple featuring five poles with flashing lights.
"Girls on Film" finished the show, a song introduced by John Taylor speaking several words in Spanish. Duran Duran continued the tour three days later, playing the Fox Theatre show in Pomona, CA, USA on 14 April 2011.
The bootleg is incomplete, missing "Planet Earth", "Hungry Like the Wolf", "All You Need Is Now", "Being Followed", "Safe" and "Girl Panic!" from the setlist.
The event poster features Duran Duran photography by Roger Dekker.
