Montreux is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded at the Montreux Rock Festival, Casino de Montreux in Montreux, Switzerland on 13 May 1987.
About the album[]
The album is a recording of a television broadcast featuring Duran Duran's performance at the Casino de Montreux, a venue located in Montreux on the shoreline of Lake Geneva.
The Montreux Rock Festival was part of the Jazz Festival, which is the best-known music festival in Switzerland and one of the most prestigious in Europe.
Duran Duran had appeared at the festival on two previous occasions. In 1984 and then the band returned to play the Montreux 1985 show.
The day after performing the Wien concert in Austria, Duran Duran took to the stage at the Montreux Rock Festival with Simon Le Bon saying "We are here for your entertainment and your pleasure". The band then opened with "Notorious", a single which reached no.4 in Switzerland.
Duran Duran continued their European tour two days later, playing the Birmingham show on 15 May.
The album's cover sleeve was created by Romanduran, which incorporates a "Notorious" related logo designed by Frank Olinsky/Manhattan Design in 1986.
