Milano: 05-06-2005 is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Astronaut Tour at the Filaforum in Milan, Italy on 5 June 2005.
About the album[]
The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Filaforum, a 11,200 capacity venue located at Via Giuseppe di Vittorio 6 20090 in the Assago district of Milan. This was the second of five shows performed in Italy on the tour.
Duran Duran made a dark and foreboding entrance to begin the show, walking to the front of the stage. The band soon kicked off with "(Reach Up for The) Sunrise", a single which reached no.2 in Italy and where it became the soundtrack of a telephone advertising campaign. "Hungry Like the Wolf" followed.
"Milano...can you make this place little planet earth!" was the cry from John Taylor, before the band launched into the third song "Planet Earth".
During the show, Simon Le Bon played acoustic guitar on a cover version of Steve Harley's "Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me)", a favorite with the audience.
The sound of shutter-clicking was the intro to "Girls on Film", a performance featuring band intros. The next song "Rio" closed out the show, with Andy Hamilton playing saxophone.
