Michael Barabas is a Canadian singer and musician from Vancouver, active in the 1990s.
Barabas, a Vancouver native was most often compared to Bobby McFerrin, he played his guitar like a set of drums, creating different tones by beating on it. His guitar featured a complex system of microphones and equalizers.
Opening up for Duran Duran's Acoustic Evening Show at The Danforth Music Hall in Toronto on 10 February 1993 was newcomer Michael Barabas, whose 15-minute set received a wildly enthusiastic response from the young crowd. Unfortunately, Barabas' guitar was stolen after this show.
