About the episode[]
The episode is from the American supernatural and dramatic television series which premiered on NBC in the USA on 3 January 2005. The series focuses on Allison DuBois (Patricia Arquette), who acts as a research medium for the Phoenix Arizona district attorney's office. The lead character is a wife to loving husband, Joe, and the mother of three daughters who all inherited her gift, apparently passed from generation to generation. The original premise of the show was based on reported experiences from self-proclaimed spiritual medium Allison Dubois, who claims to have worked with law enforcement agencies across the country in criminal investigations.
The plot of the episode has Joe's mother paying a surprise visit to Allison, which worries her because she hasn't seen Allison since her psychic abilities became public knowledge. Meanwhile, Cynthia Keener tries to push Allison's dreams towards outstanding cases, and Devalos and Scanlon are reunited with Allison in an unexpected way after an arson-related murder.
