"Mars Meets Venus" is a song by Duran Duran, released on the album Pop Trash by Hollywood Records on 19 June 2000.

About the song[]

Written by Duran Duran, the song was co-produced by Warren Cuccurullo and Nick Rhodes' TV Mania. This was a departure from previous album material, where production was always credited to Duran Duran plus any outside producers. This reflected Simon Le Bon's decreasing involvement in the songwriting, recording, and mixing process at the time.

This is a dance track in a similar style to "Electric Barbarella" and takes a cynical and humorous look at modern dating.

Lyrics[]

Thirty something graduate, green eyes

Perfect Christian lady, candlelit dinner

Slim female figure, sense of humour

Extrovert where are you?...

Where are you?...where are you?

Let's start as friends

Seeking soul mate, long-term relationship

Choose life, soul sister

Hippie chick for soul brother bluesman

Genuine American frog seeks princess..

Someone is perfect for you (when Mars meets Venus)

Do you wanna bet your life

They're gonna be perfect for you too? (Mars meets Venus)

New-age man - shake me up, wild girl, gay guy

Romantic German, Indian, long-term relationship

Beauty with brains, missing something

Say...are you the one?... are you the one?

Someone is perfect for you (when Mars meets Venus)

Do you wanna bet your life

They're gonna be perfect for you too? (Mars meets Venus)...

Here's looking at you...
