Manchester 22.01.94 is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Dilate Your Mind Tour at the G-Mex Centre in Manchester, UK on 22 January 1994.

About the album[]

The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the G-Mex Centre, a 9,500 (seated) capacity venue located at Windmill Street in Manchester. This was the only show performed in Manchester on the tour.

Originally scheduled for 8 September 1993, the evening kicked off with Andy Wickett's World Service warming up the crowd.

Duran Duran came out with all guns blazing with their upbeat "Too Much Information", followed by the most successful Bond single "A View to a Kill".

During the show Warren Cuccurullo paid tribute to Frank Zappa, who died the previous month of prostate cancer on 4 December 1993. Former Frank Zappa band guitarist Cuccurullo performed Frank's "Watermelon In Easter Hay", a track with no lyrics as such but has a spoken word introduction and features a guitar solo that runs to over nine minutes.
