London 1993: Late Show is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during An Acoustic Evening Tour at the Dominion Theatre in London, UK on 20 March 1993.

About the album[]

The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Dominion Theatre, a 2,163 capacity venue located in London's Tottenham Court Road. This was the last of three UK shows on the tour.

Duran Duran last played the Dominion Theatre almost 10 years earlier, when the band performed in front of the Prince and Princess of Wales during the Prince's Trust Rock Gala in 1983.

Three hours after the 'Early Show' began, Duran Duran took to the stage at midnight for their second performance at the venue on this day. Backed by a string section featuring cello and violins, the band launched their set with a powerful acoustic version of "Planet Earth".

An orchestral sounding "Hungry Like the Wolf" followed, played with shimmering percussion. "Ordinary World" was next, the first of three songs taken from The Wedding Album released several weeks earlier.

During the evening, Duran Duran played "Crystal Ship" and "Success", two cover songs which would later feature on the 1995 album Thank You.

After the concert fans were interviewed by Sky TV in the middle of Tottenham Court Road.

Tickets for the event cost around £12.50.

The album also includes two bonus tracks recorded at the Jerusalem for Reconciliation Concert, Royal Albert Hall in London. The recording of "Ordinary World" is the first live performance of the song and included John Jones on piano.
