Live In Singapore is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Reunion Tour at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on 16 December 2003
About the album[]
The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, a 12,000 capacity venue located by the Kallang River. This was Duran Duran's only show in Singapore on the tour.
The gig started almost an hour late and lasted for a full hour and a half, complete with the customary encore.
From the minute Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, Andy Taylor, Roger Taylor walked onto the stage, it was all systems go. Launching into "Friends of Mine", the band, all dressed in permutations of black and white, had the crowd up on its feet and singing along.
This Tuesday show, with the audience of a mix of locals, expats and a few tourists were knocked over by a tidal wave of hits and new songs.
During the evening Simon Le Bon played acoustic guitar on "Beautiful Colours", an unreleased new track. Andy Taylor wore sunglasses for the whole show and occationally dangled a lit cigarette from his lips.
The encore consisted of Melle Mel's co-written "White Lines", followed by "The Reflex" and "Rio".
After the concert, Mr Alan Collins, the British High Commissioner, held a reception for the band and some 100 guests at his residence at Eden Hall in Nassim Road. John Taylor, Andy Taylor and Roger Taylor arrived first, at about 11:00pm, followed by Nick Rhodes and Simon Le Bon 15 minutes later.
Tickets for the event cost $181, $151, $120, $100 and $70 (SGDollars).
