Live In Melbourne, 1982 is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Rio Tour at the Palais Theatre in Melbourne, Australia on 18 April 1982.

About the album[]

The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Palais Theatre, a 2,896 capacity venue located at St. Kilda in Melbourne. This was the third of six shows performed in Australia on the tour.

On 15 April 1982, Duran Duran started their Rio Tour from Adelaide, Australia. Three days later the tour reached Melbourne for this show.

During this time, Rio was unreleased. The setlist features most of the songs from the band's first album Duran Duran and is very similar to The Careless Memories Tour shows, such as Live At Odeon.

The album includes "Hungry Like the Wolf" and "Hold Back the Rain", played before the songs were released. "Hungry Like the Wolf" unfolds into "Night Boat", something Duran Duran had already done with several songs during The Faster Than Light Tour". That transition was between "Fame" and "Night Boat", performed on shows such as Amsterdam 1981.

Available at the Australian Rio shows were different tour programmes, featuring front cover photography by Michael Putland.
