Live In Australia '83 is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Sing Blue Silver Tour at the Festival Hall in Brisbane, Australia on 19 November 1983.
About the album[]
The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Festival Hall, a 4,000 capacity venue located in the Brisbane inner city area. This was the third of eight shows performed in Australia on the tour.
After the two UK summer shows, the Prince's Trust Rock Gala (London) and the MENCAP benefit show (Birmingham) the band flew to Australia to complete their new album Seven and the Ragged Tiger. During this period they also filmed the video for "Union of the Snake" with director Simon Milne.
The Australian tour lasted for 16 days, comprising of eight shows in six different cities. The cities played were Camberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. The album features the first of two shows performed in Brisbane.
The Little Heroes were the opening act, an Australian rock band best known for their hit single "One Perfect Day" released in 1982.
The album's track listing is notable, because during the first period of the 83-84 tour, "My Own Way" was performed in the middle of the show, before "Friends of Mine". "Of Crime and Passion" was played near the end of the show.
The final song "Girls on Film" is incomplete.
