Las Vegas no.2 is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Up Close and Personal Tour at the House of Blues in Las Vegas, NV, USA on 31 March 2001.
About the album[]
The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the House of Blues in Las Vegas, a venue located inside the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Resort at 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. Part of 26 US dates, this was the last of two shows at the venue on the tour.
Scheduled to began at 8:00pm, Duran Duran took to the intimate stage and opened with the haunting "Silva Halo". "Union of the Snake" followed, a song that kicks off with a Bowie "Let's Dance" bass drum pattern.
During the evening the band performed "Lava Lamp" and a slow version of "Secret Oktober", two songs which aren't on most 2001 bootlegs.
Also included is a powerful drum performance on "Girls on Film", performed by Joe Travers.
The final shows in March saw the band suffering from heavy colds and audiences were going home complaining they were carrying the 'Duran Plague'.
The following night, Duran Duran ended their US tour in Anaheim.
Tickets for the event cost around $65.
