Las Vegas is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Dilate Your Mind Tour at Bally's Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV, USA on 24 August 1993.
About the album[]
The album is an incomplete recording of Duran Duran's performance at Bally's Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, an entertainment complex located at 3645 Las Vegas Blvd South. This was the only show performed in the state of Nevada on the tour.
The recording was taken from a radio broadcast CD produced by Westwood One of the last US summer show by Duran Duran, which was franchised to other radio networks. Unfortunately Warren Cuccurullo was unhappy with the original Westwood One recording and re-recorded some of the guitar parts in the studio for the radio broadcast.
During the performance of "Rio" and "A View to a Kill", Simon Le Bon's voice was strained and eight days later at the Rotterdam show he lost his voice completely.
The album also includes Duran Duran's complete performance at Live Aid featuring the original five band members, performed at the JFK Stadium in Philadelphia, USA on 13 July 1985.
