Biography[]
Katy was born in the USA, attending Wheatley High School, University of Rhode Island and the New York Institute of Technology-Old Westbury. She has been Media Consultant at Universal Republic Records and VP of Publicity at Sanctuary Records. Katy has done publicity for many music artists and has written media materials for They Might Be Giants, Tori Amos, Duran Duran, John Fogerty, Dave Barnes, Agnes, Zedge mobile, Section 101 and more.
Since 1995 Katy has been a behind-the-scenes multi-tasker for Duran Duran, fulfilling duties as a publicist, fan liaison, web mistress and all-around coordinator. In 1997, she became the namesake of one of the most popular features on duranduran.com: Ask Katy, a Q&A column in which fans can submit questions to her and the members of Duran Duran, who then select which ones to answer on the site. The book Would Someone Please Explain?: The Best Of Duran Duran's Ask Katy was compiled with highlights from the column. The November 2007 Duran Duran on Broadway Playbill programme has a 'Thank You' credit to Katy.
