Background informationEdit

Graye was born in Kona Hawaii and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. He moved to Orlando where he first achieved notice at the University of Central Florida, where he played on the football team and attended classes on a sports scholarship. Shortly after graduation, Graye put down his football and picked up a guitar that a friend accidentally left at his house.

Graye began performing solo acoustic music in 1993 under the name 'Average Joe'. With a gift for song writing and a powerful voice, Graye soon recruited other musicians to develop The Average Joe Band.

The Average Joe Band released three CDs and performed with various bands including Bare Naked Ladies and Blues Traveler.

Graye has since received national recognition in Rolling Stone and Musician Magazine, and performed internationally.
