John Ozzie Osborne is an American lighting designer and technical director, whose work has included lighting design for Duran Duran's Sing Blue Silver Tour.


Osborne attended California State University in Fresno, CA between 1973 and 1978, gaining a BA in Theatre. After leaving university, he began work at California based OZterity Lighting, where he would later become President.

Whilst at OZterity Lighting since 1979, Osbourne has served as artistic, lighting, and technical director for Diana Ross. He has also lit up the performances of the likes of Anita Baker, Stevie Wonder, Natalie Cole, Luther Vandross, and a host of others.

Likewise, Osborne's television credits are numerous. He was the lighting director for the 1997 Super Bowl Half Time Show with the Blues Brothers at the Superdome in New Orleans for the National Football League and Fox Television. Other credits include Garth Brooks Saturday Nite at the Super Bowl '93 and the 1988 Democratic Convention.

Osborne has also added "party events" such as movie premieres to his professional endeavors. Some of these include Disney's The Lion King, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Medicine Man, and Evita.

2009 marked Osborne's 30th year with OZterity Lighting.
