Jimmy Kimmel Live!: March 30, 2011 is an American late-night talk show, created and hosted by Jimmy Kimmel which was aired on ABC and featured Duran Duran.
About the show[]
The hour-long show is prerecorded and aires five nights a week. Jimmy Kimmel Live! is filmed at El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles and features musical guests at the end of each show, who perform on either an indoor or outdoor stage. Guests on March 30, 2011 also included Danny McBride and Sara Ramirez.
Duran Duran's performance was recorded six days earlier on March 24. On their arrival at the venue, band members signed autographs and Nick Rhodes spoke of his sadness on hearing about Elizabeth Taylor's death, also commenting that he had met the actress.
Performing on an outdoor stage with video screens as a backdrop, Duran Duran opened with "All You Need Is Now". The format was slightly different, with Roger Taylor standing upfront with a basic drum kit on several tracks. Four songs into the setlist and the band played "Girl Panic!", unfortunately they had to halt the song when Dominic Brown's guitar lead dropped out. Duran Duran finished with "A View to a Kill", a no.1 single on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1985.
Television audiences only saw the first two songs, "All You Need Is Now" and "Notorious".
