"Invisible" is an official Duran Duran single, released via online download, 19th May 2021.
About the Song[]
"Invisible" was the first single to be released from the DD #15 album: Future Past.
Roger: "This was one of the first things we did with Erol Alkan and Graham Coxon. It came out really well." (Source)
Initially to be released in April alongside a DD40 retrospecting on BBC Radio 2, the launch was postponed due to the death of UK Royal Prince Philip on the 9th of April.
Barli posted on Instagram. "BEYOND excited to share this ....!!! I am singing on the Duran duran NEW single out today produced by Erol Alkan. It was so much fun and a complete honour working with these guys."
Simon said the song is about a relationship; where one person is not being heard; and feels invisible. He later suggested that certain lines (No vote, No blame/Voiceless Crowd) referenced a political feeling in the UK, in the wake of the global pandemic.
Music Video[]
In the early part of 2021 (perhaps Feb/March), the band team up with a company called Nested Minds; who studied under Neuroscientist Karl Friston, and created 'Huxley' - a creative AI that exists in the cloud. Providing with the lyrics, pictures, music and other information about the band, Huxley got to work dreaming the video for Invisible; resonating smeared images with distorted footage, and band members singing the song - which they shot on an i-phone. The video was created entirely by Huxley and was "untouched by human hands". (YouTube).
"Huxley" has a thinking mode and a dreaming mode; making this the first Dreamt Music Video in history. It is the very first collaboration of its kind, between artists in different planes of existence.

“INVISIBLE” was mixed with an immersive #360RA experience in mind; scientifically optimized for use with headphones.
This song was featured in some fan-made edits for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in 2023 and 2024, although the song was unofficially used, and does not feature in the game itself. Publicity from these videos generated a significant number of views. [1], [2]

"Invisible" did not enter the UK Singles Chart, as it wasn't eligible due to being a download. The song peaked at number 44 on the UK Singles Downloads Chart.
