Hamburg, Germany: 13-06-2005 is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Astronaut Tour at the Stadtpark in Hamburg, Germany on 13 June 2005.
About the album[]
The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Stadtpark, a 148-acre public park located in the northern district of Hamburg. This was the second of five shows performed in Germany on the tour.
After The Departure warmed the audience with their style of rock, Duran Duran made a foreboding entrance by walking to the front of the stage. The band then opened the show with "(Reach Up for The) Sunrise", a song which the audience were loud for.
The bubbly sequencer intro to "Hungry Like the Wolf" soon followed, a song with distinct musical phrases that increase tension. From this right into "Planet Earth", featuring Nick Rhodes' near-trademark synth sound.
The 2-hour set was balanced between hits, fan favorites, and new songs. Of the new songs, "Chains" and "What Happens Tomorrow" were played.
The concert finished with an encore that featured a member of audience called Sophie from Hamburg introducing Simon Le Bon, during "Girls on Film". Le Bon commented "The best hamburger I've ever seen!."
Tickets cost around €39.99.
The concert poster features photography by Kristian Schuller.
