Gary Oldknow is an English visual designer, who is fluent in all aspects of moving image design and show presentation technology.
His work has included visual design on Duran Duran concerts for almost two decades.
Biography[]
Since 1998, Gary has created on-stage visuals for Duran Duran concerts that include The Latest and Greatest Tour, The Pop Trash Tour, The Astronaut Tour, the 2007 Broadway shows, the 'Diamond in the Mind' 2011-2012 world tour and the UK Paper Gods Tour 2015. His work has included directing the "Careless Memories" Manga anime, used during The Reunion Tour. This anime features main illustrations created by Fumio Obata.
He has also made videos for The Devils, including "Dark Circles". Gary was later commissioned to make a music video for "Nice", but as the track was relegated to radio play and download only it was cancelled before completion.
In 2013, he edited the "Beautiful Clothes " video from Nick and Warren's TV Mania project.
He has worked with many other artists including: David Bowie, Sting, The Chemical Brothers, The Orb, The Pet Shop Boys, The Prodigy, Radiohead, Johnny Cash and on many other major events involving projection technology including: The Copenhagen Climate Change Conference, The Winter Olympics (Vancouver 2010) and South Africa Freedom Day.
