Written by Simon Le Bon and Nick Rhodes, the song is a mixed version of "The Flame", created by producer Nile Rodgers. "Flame Game" was originally only released as the B side on Arcadia's third single "The Flame" and did not appear on the band's So Red the Rose album.
The song is also available on Arcadia's 2010 So Red the Rose (2 CD and DVD) and the unofficial Singles Box Set.
