Fergus Gerrand is a British percussionist and drummer, whose work has included performing with Duran Duran.
Fergus Gerrand has had a diverse and exciting career performing, recording and producing with some of the most thrilling talent the music industry has to offer. Fergus has studied numerous forms of percussion including Indian, Middle Eastern, Latin; Afro-Cuban and Brazilian, in England as well as in India.
In 1999 Fergus was the drummer, percussionist, programmer and musical director on Melanie C's first solo album. Prior to that, he had played percussion on the Spice Girls first tour and drums on their second tour, also appeared in the movie of the same name playing himself.
Other work outside the world of the Spice Girls, has been considerable. Some of the highlights include playing drums and percussion for Duran Duran's MTV's Unplugged performance, also performing on The Wedding Album, playing drums for Invisible’s "Scream" single; playing drums and percussion for Madonna’s Ray of Light album, and playing electronic and orchestral percussion for Mike Oldfield’s live Tubular Bells performances.
He has also toured with Take That (five tours), Hank Marvin, Vanessa Mae, Vasko Vassilev, Human League, and recorded with Peter Gabriel, Katie Melua, William Orbit and many other artists.
