Early Days '80/'81 is an unofficial compilation album, featuring a collection of live Duran Duran performances from the early 1980s.

About the album[]

The album contains the oldest Duran Duran live recordings available.

While the first two tracks are claimed to be the original live demo recordings made for EMI in early 1980, this is impossible, as "My Own Way" wasn't even written until May 1981. These are actually just live recordings from late 1981, probably from The Careless Memories Tour.

The following four tracks were recorded in 1980 at Paul and Michael Berrow's Rum Runner nightclub in Birmingham, where Duran Duran were based.

Track 8 was recorded at the Sundown Club in London on 4 March 1981.

The track listings on the final seven songs reads that they were recorded at the Sundown Club on 6 March 1981, which is an error as Duran Duran were performing at the Top Rank in Cardiff, UK on that date.
