Earls Court 2005 is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Astronaut Tour at the Earls Court Arena in London, UK on 21 December 2005.
About the album[]
The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Earls Court Arena, a 19,000 capacity venue located in west London. This was the first of two shows performed by the band in London during December 2005.
Duran Duran took to the stage decked out with five rectangular screens that doubled as spectacular flame-throwers, and opened the show with "Friends of Mine".
Dressed in black & white thin ties, the band continued with their debut single "Planet Earth". John Taylor’s bouncy bass lines bounced off the venue’s walls, Nick Rhodes punctuated the song with his near-trademark synth sound.
Throughout the night, Duran Duran mixed their hits with new songs. In total, four tracks from Astronaut were played.
"Save A Prayer" found Le Bon strapping on an acoustic guitar, backed by Nick Rhodes’ synth work. After the Bond-theme "A View to a Kill, Duran Duran closed the show with "The Wild Boys".
Tickets for the event cost around £45.00.
