Duran Duran in Chicago is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded at the 101.9FM The Mix's Miracle on State Street show, Chicago Theatre in Chicago, IL, USA on 14 December 2007.

About the album[]

The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance the Chicago Theatre, a 6,300 capacity venue located on North State Street in the Loop area of Chicago. This was the first of two shows in the state of Illinois on the tour.

The event was organised by WTMX (101.9 FM "The Mix"), an adult top 40 radio station based in Chicago. WTMX's promotions included giving away four sets of tickets each day for five days in a competition to every 10th phone caller. After the fifth day, each winner was then entered into the Grand Draw to win a VIP limo trip with Simon Le Bon, to a baseball game the evening before the show.

After opening acts Pat Monahan and Sara Bareilla, Duran Duran began with updated dance-club rhythms courtesy of their latest release Red Carpet Massacre. This was soon followed by crowd-pleasing archival songs such as "Planet Earth" and "Rio". Wearing all black, Simon Le Bon introduced the band during their only encore song of the evening "Girls on Film".

The event poster features Duran Duran photography by Stephanie Pistel.

Duran Duran continued their US tour in 2008, playing the 'Big Night 9' show at the Boston Convention and Expo Center on 26 January (the event raised $1.8 million for charity).
