Duran Duran Vs Andy Taylor: That Fatal Kiss is an unofficial Duran Duran / Andy Taylor live album, recorded at two shows in Japan during 1987.
About the album[]
CD 1 is an incomplete recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Korakuen Stadium in Tokyo, Japan on 22 March 1987.
This was the fifth of six shows performed in Japan during The Strange Behaviour Tour, held at a 50,000 capacity venue which was located on the site of now The Tokyo Dome.
These were the first Duran Duran shows in Japan for more than 3 years, which were part of the first tour played without Andy and Roger Taylor.
The performance includes moments when Simon Le Bon had some difficulties singing the right lyrics at the right time. This is mostly noticeable at the end of "A View to a Kill" and at the beginning of "Notorious".
The show began on a night of heavy rain, so during the evening Le Bon sang a line of "Singin' In The Rain" from the 1952 American Musical comedy film starring Gene Kelly. He also thanked the crowd for being there.
CD 2 features tracks from Andy Taylor's performance at the NHK Hall in Tokyo, Japan on 8 July 1987. This was the fourth of six shows performed by Andy Taylor in 1987, held a 3,800 capacity venue located at 2-2-1, Jinnan in Shibuya, Tokyo.
During the show, the band played "When The Rain Comes Down", a song from the Miami Vice 2: Soundtrack. This show is also available on other bootlegs including Thunder In Tokyo.
In 2010, Andy Taylor's official website released tracks from his performance as a download called Live In Tokyo 1987.
